Sr Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring product and process compliance, command media compliance, regulatory compliance. Develops and maintains a system to assure that all products meet customer requirements while achieving superior quality and reliability levels. Will also identify quality improvement opportunities with the intent to increase supplier defect detection, drive escape containment, and support the RCCA process while working directly with Product Engineering (PE), manufacturing/line personnel and members of the Customer Quality teams. The QE will be responsible for leading cross functional quality initiatives to drive site wide quality supplier quality improvements and serves as the focal point for all supplier quality aspects. The QE identifies opportunities and provides organizational leadership to create a quality competitive advantage for Client AERO and its Customers.
- Ensures compliance with customer requirements, regulatory agency, government regulations, engineering specifications, and company policies/procedures.
- Recognized authority in supplier quality with wide versatility of experience and capability.
- Effectively represents the company at customer, regulatory agency, and internal management meetings.
- Ensures that all product and process quality deficiencies are satisfactorily resolved through application of the Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) process.
- Establishes and executes quality improvement plans for systemic product and process defects.
- Manages supplier production non-conforming product control and disposition processes.
- Interfaces with the business segment Customer Quality representatives, providing support and responsiveness to customer requirements flow down, quality initiatives, product-related problem resolution, and review presentations.
- Interfaces with the Sourcing Quality organization to comprehensively address and resolve supplier
quality issues.
- Provides on-going support to supplier containment and development initiatives.
- Provides Quality support for product transitions.
- Implements product and process improvements/controls to assure sustained product quality results at the completion of the transitions.
- Collaborate closely with ISC PE on product quality improvements.
- Perform review of contractual documents and customer requirements to assure compliance with customer, regulatory and authorizing documents in support of Product Verification Audits.
- Serve as a focal point to address supplier quality issues in the Customer Satisfaction Board
- Serve as the site focal point for supplier quality issues
- Ensure Quality System is understood and executed by associates with influence on product, regulatory or process quality
- Provide support to the site quality team to assure Quality and Operational goals and objectives are met
- Identify and execute projects to standardize and lean/simplify quality systems, processes and procedures
- Develop key process measures to determine process effectiveness and areas for improvement
- Utilize enablers; Client Operating System, Six Sigma, Lean to identify best practices and drive continuous quality improvement.
- Lead cross-functional teams in the execution and reporting of quality improvement projects with a focus on improved Quality Management Systems
- Drive 'real time' RPS (Rapid Problem Solving) and RCCA that involve floor and supplier personnel in the prevention of defects
- Establish key indicators for quality process control, customer, and performance improvement metrics that support site BIQ (Built In Quality) efforts and enhance Visual management for the Quality Management Board.
- Understand and support the deployment of our safety philosophy
Previous experience working with Supplier Quality
Aerospace industry experience preffered
ASQ/CQE/Six SigmaΒ Certification a Plus
