Applied Composites (AC) is seeking an Engineer 3, Quality Systems who provides technical expertise to ensure compliance to customer, industry, and regulatory requirements. Assists with the development and implementation of quality systems/approaches within the programs and functions. Develops quality plans that meet relevant standards and support proposals, contracts and customer expectations. Audits and measures the success of improvement efforts and ensures adherence to contract requirements and Company quality standards. Maintains awareness of customer-driven corrective action requests and works with process owners to drive corrective actions to completion. Reports to the Quality Manager and works with other departments as necessary.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Maintains the overall status and implementation of the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Ensure compliance to AS9100/ISO 9001, NADCAP, and other quality standards
  • Perform QMS document creation/revision as necessary
  • Facilitate customer, regulatory, and industry audits
  • Collect, report, and action Key Performance metrics
  • Resolve problems throughout the manufacturing and QA process
  • Maintain personnel training and certifications records through document control
  • Perform internal audits of the QMS to ensure compliance
  • Own root cause and corrective actions (RCCA) relating to QMS and audit findings
  • Analyze audit results and determine proper corrective and preventative action
  • Facilitate process improvements with site management
  • Facilitate RCCA with process owners and submit completed reports to customers
  • Other responsibilities as assigned


 Job Specifications:

Education:  Post-secondary degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations
  Years’ Experience:  
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
Skills:

  • Previous experience responsible for AS9100 certified QMS
  • Previous experience with NADCAP preferred
  • Previous experience facilitating regulatory, industry, or customer quality audits
  • Previous experience conducting internal audits
  • Previous experience collecting and reporting Key Performance metrics
  • Excellent ability to apply a systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to problem solving
  • Good knowledge and ability to apply core concepts of engineering
  • Ability to use existing procedures to solve problems
  • Adept with Microsoft Office product suite (especially Excel)
  • Experience with Power BI or similar data visualization software a plus
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion
  • Previous experience with Composites Manufacturing a plus
