POSITION: Inspector, Aerospace 

LOCATION: Jupiter, FL.

STATUS: Contract to Hire, Hourly Non-Exempt

 

JOB SUMMARY 

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential functions of the job include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Performs incoming, in-process and final dimensional, visual and functional inspections on various commercial and military aerospace turbine by following written proceduresand established practices 
  • Performs inspections for AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports and documents variable or attribute data as required
  • Interfaces with aerospace engineering regarding recommendations for work instruction and/or router improvements 
  • Generates NCRs in quality management system 
  • Reviews job paperwork through entire inspection process to ensure completeness and conformity 
  • Utilizes precision measuring equipment as required 
  • Operates small cranes to move equipment, parts, and material 
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area 
  • Follows Environmental Health and Safety regulations while working in a fast-paced environment 
  • Other duties as assigned

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education & Training

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Complete Specific on-the-job training towards meeting essential duties and work area performance criteria. 
  •  Must complete EHS assigned regulatory training for work area as described by PSM’s EHS Training Matrix. 

 

Skills/Experience 

  •  3+ years of inspection experience in a production or manufacturing environment
  •  3+ years of experience with interpretation of technical drawings or work instructions
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office programs, SAP, and time keeping applications
  • Must be detail orientated 

 

 Physical Requirements

  • Stooping/Crouching. Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
  • Kneeling. Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
  • Crawling. Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet.
  • Reaching. Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
  • Standing. Particularly for sustained periods of time
  • Walking. Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work area to another.
  • Pushing & Pulling
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs. Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position.
  • Grasping. Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
  • Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
  • The worker is subject to noise. There may be sufficient noise to cause the worker to raise their voice to be heard above ambient noise level.
  • The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
  • Capable of wearing required PPE for specific tasks performed, such as safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, safety shoes, etc.
  • Ability to cooperate and work with people
