Description

The Senior Inspector performs receiving, in-process, and final inspection on electronic systems; electromechanical assemblies, or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies. They are responsible for determining whether parts or assemblies are acceptable based on drawing and specification requirements. The position requires accurate & concise communication between production, project management, shipping/receiving, and quality management.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform all tests, inspections and measurements required by pre-defined instruction and/or experience.
  • Conduct inspection of incoming raw materials, first article parts, in-process materials, and finished goods
  • Inspect both work in progress and completed tasks for compliance in accordance with Purchase Order Instructions, Design Drawings & Specifications, Quality Control Plan, Safety, and contractual requirements
  • May Coordinate and assist with scheduled inspections with FAA/EASA regulatory personnel
  • Develop training and train junior individuals on inspection equipment and methods
  • May Travel to various local and international supplier facilities to preform inspections.
  • Perform other quality-related tasks as assigned.


Requirements
  • 6+ years of experience working in a Quality Inspection role
  • Experience in aerospace electromechanical quality control inspection
  • Experience working in an ISO 9001/AS9100 QMS environment
  • Must be able to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, specifications, etc. per ASME Y 14.5 and ASME Y 14.100 and able to train junior inspectors
  • Able to read and interpret service manuals, diagrams and schematics relative to installation and repairs
  • Willing and able to train junior inspectors on how to use various inspection equipment
  • 6+ years of experience using mechanical/electrical inspection/test tools (calipers, micrometers, multi-meters, surface plate, height gauges, comparator, gauge blocks, thread gauges, etc.) and/or 6+ years working with FAA CFR Part 21 requirements performing and presenting parts for regulatory conformity inspections should be able to issue 8130’s & Form 1s
  • Solid knowledge of AS9102 FAIR requirements and able to train junior inspector on its completion
  • Must have a clear understanding of document types that are impacted by Configuration Control Changes; e.g. Drawings & Specifications, Procedures and Work Instructions
  • Previous experience working with an ERP or MRP systems
  • Proficient computer skills (MS word, Excel, Outlook)


Benefits

The starting pay range for this position is $22.00 to $29.00 however, the base pay offered may vary depending on the level of the position, skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and location.
