Layout, fabricate, assemble, mate, install, check or troubleshoot and repair production and prototype aircraft structures, parts and mechanical assemblies
Read and interpret information from mechanical/structural, blueprints, planning, process specifications, diagrams, engineering drawings and sketches, and other instructions to determine the methods and sequence of operations to layout, assemble, and install precision parts and assemblies
Layout coordinated hole patterns, cutouts, trim lines, mating points, assembly and installation locations using precision measuring instruments and equipment
Assemble and mate aircraft parts and assemblies
Attach structural parts and assemblies using riveting and hand and power tools, hand trim and finish
Drill, route, ream, countersink, spot-face and counter bore parts
Modify or rebuild parts to mold line or configuration changes
Modify aircraft structure, installation and mechanical systems in accordance with engineering requirements
Perform experimental and developmental work operations on experimental aircraft or assemblies
Assemble prefabricated parts into assemblies and mate major sections of aircraft assemblies
Incorporate major engineering changes and modifications
Present a clean and neat work area to customers
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Minimum of three (3) years heavy structural experience
High school graduate or equivalent
Minimum of five (5) years' experience with various types of aircraft, power plant maintenance and inspections
Working knowledge of rigging and installation of operating mechanisms structures, assemblies and parts, related systems and equipment, and assembly shop practices
Requires excellent communication skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to effectively coordinate with multiple departments
Planning and organizational skills necessary
Computer experience in Microsoft Office software products
Must have valid drivers license, ability to achieve airport SIDA badge status
