Role purpose:
To undertake complex / tailored business assurance assessments and recommend certification, deferral, suspension, withdrawal of certification, validation or verification against the appropriate standard(s) and lead groups / clients / schemes in the above.

Key Responsibilities:
- Within authorised area of specialism, undertake business assurance assessments in accordance with current procedures.
- Lead multi-disciplinary and/ or international assessment teams effectively, ensuring that the visit is completed within the agreed timescales, and co-ordinating team findings to reach conclusions.
- Produce high quality assessment reports or other reports such as summary reports, reflecting business assurance principles, in compliance with accreditation requirements and internal procedures.
- Have sufficient broad knowledge of BA & IS products and services to able to discuss additional services with clients and be able to take the opportunity to promote additional or higher value services, while actively building strong relationships.
- Ensure that all internal client stakeholders are kept informed of changes and issues, escalating as appropriate.
- Proactively identify opportunities and sales leads and pass these onto appropriate colleagues.
- Pass client feedback and insights to appropriate internal recipients initiating and leading client improvement projects as required.
- Maintain professional competence by keeping abreast of technical and other developments in own area of expertise, maintaining CPD records, updating BA & IS CV, maintaining professional registrations and producing records of competence as required.
- Supervise induction/coaching/knowledge transfer for assigned new auditors.
- Coach auditors under training, recommending authorisation and further development activities as appropriate. Mentor less experienced Lead Auditors to assist in the development of their professional skills.
- Perform additional and ad hoc tasks promptly as required such as auditor development, product development or projects.
- Participate fully in auditor meetings including developing materials, presenting and coaching others in own area of expertise as appropriate.
Technical / Professional Qualifications / Requirements:
- Aerospace auditor qualifications
- Thorough understanding of management systems/scheme requirements and their application via a business assurance approach.
- Qualified to audit against more than one major standard, sector scheme or a qualified MS Trainer e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 14001.
- Understanding/ appreciation of relevant legal/ regulatory framework.
- Substantial experience in third party auditing/assessment including system level auditing and process level auditing.
- Understanding of the principles of client management principles and application within the role.
- Experience in developing and managing complex technical projects.
- Appreciation of the full range of MS products and services.
- A degree (or equivalent qualification) in a relevant subject.
- Competent in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
